Why Synthetic?
Mineral oils have molecular irregularities that create internal friction, known as 'traction'. Synthetic oils (PAOs) have uniform molecular structures that slide over each other with minimal resistance, resulting in cooler gearbox operation.
Energy Savings
Field studies show that switching to high-efficiency synthetic gear lubricants can reduce electrical power consumption in large gearboxes by 3% to 8%. In a large factory, this translates to thousands of dollars in annual savings.
Water Separation
In wet environments (like paper mills or food processing), the ability of an oil to shed water (demulsibility) is critical. Synthetic lubricants provide superior water separation, preventing emulsion-related bearing failures.
